Manar Rachwani is the Co-Director at SIRAJ, with extensive experience in journalism and
research.
Before joining SIRAJ, he served as the Editor-in-Chief of Syria Direct, a bilingual English-
Arabic in-depth reporting platform covering Syria and the Syrian diaspora. He was also the
Research Manager for Southern Syria at the Stabilisation Response Mechanism (SRM) Program
implemented by Adam Smith International.
Mr. Rachwani has held other editorial roles, including the Opinion Editor and Columnist for
Jordan’s Al-Ghad Daily and Qatar’s Al-Arab Daily.
His academic involvement includes fellowships at prestigious institutions, such as the Draper
Hills Summer Fellowship at Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development, and the
Rule of Law and the Atkin Fellowship at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalization
and Political Violence (ICSR) at King’s College London.
Mr. Rachwani holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Al al-Bayt University in Jordan
and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Jordan.
