SIRAJ (Syrian Investigative Reporting for Accountability Journalism) is seeking a Project Manager (Part time) to join our team of experienced investigative reporters and editors in our mission to Promote investigative and accountability journalism.

SIRAJ is a growing media and training organisation.

We are looking for a motivated manager with demonstrated experience in managing grants to lead projects development, proposal writing and reporting on a part time basis (15 hours per week, flexible schedule) There is a possibility to grow into a full time position, depending on funding and performance.  

Position Description:

The Project Manager oversees SIRAJ applications, reporting and other project activities.

Responsibilities for the position fall under two broad categories: project management and fundraising.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing project timelines and all pre- and post-project reporting.

The Project Manager will also correspond directly with ongoing and prospective donors, identify and track funding opportunities, and write applications with the support of SIRAJ’s senior management team.

In addition, they will assist with the design and development of projects, and research potential avenues for new strategic partnerships. The Project Manager will report to SIRAJ’s Executive Director.

Requirements:

  •   Fluency in English and impeccable writing skills;
  •   1-3 years of project management experience, preferably in media and journalism or the non-profit sector;
  •   Experience writing proposals and designing projects;
  •   Strong verbal and interpersonal skills;
  •   Strong organisational skills, deadline and detail-oriented;
  •   Knowledge of GSuite, Dropbox, Slack, Zoom, WordPress, and other related technologies.

Desirable, but not required:

  •   Knowledge of the Arabic language;
  •   Experience working on Syria;
  •   Internationally-recognized programs or project management certifications (PMP, etc.);

Location: Remote, anywhere with a reliable Internet connection

The organisation works with regional and international partners to publish its investigations and is part of a growing community of accountability journalism, whose goals are to affect change and bring about justice for affected communities in Syria.
